like me you live and breathe fashion. You are constantly stimulated by so many new ideas racing through your mind, most of which you can’t seem to get all down fast enough at the rate they arrive. You always dream of the day when your fashion will be on the fashion runway with lights shining brightly overhead, cameras flashing everywhere and the audience completely in awe of your designs remarkable. You can’t stop thinking about the day you open a magazine or watch the Oscars and see a celebrity in one of your striking designs. Your bookshelf is full of fashion books and magazines, and you can’t resist visiting fabric stores to see all the latest fabrics, beads, rhinestones and patterns.
This is that relentless dream of becoming a successful fashion designer that has you working day and night on your designs often for years without getting paid and working to pay for the pills that hurt you with cruelty, when all you can think about is survival. and working in fashion.
Famous fashion designers from all walks of life there is no other way to follow that will make you the next famous fashion designer. Some have graduated from fashion high schools and some never attended fashion school. Some did an apprenticeship with a fashion house and some made their own designs in their basement. The only things all these fashion designers have in common is that they had a great passion for fashion, they were able to create fashion that was in high demand and they connected with the person who gave them access in the fashion industry. It is important to be a successful fashion designer that you get yourself and your designs out there as much as possible, as how can anyone know about your fashion if they don’t see it?
In getting your fashion out there there are a few things you can do:
1. We are not always good at everything some of us are good at making clothes but we cannot sew and make patterns. Here you can fall in love with someone who shares your passion for fashion and has the skills you need. It is by combining different skills that you can create a real manufacturable product.
2. By having a fashion line of 14 clothes you can apply for your weekly fashion week. In the USA: New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco all have fashion weeks. These fashion weeks attract a lot of editors, journalists and local people who come to see your fashions and can give you the exposure you need to get known.
3. Many nightclubs in the city host fashion shows, find out which nightclubs host fashion shows and talk to them about how you can be apart of the upcoming show.
4. Look for fashion stores that match the fashion you have created, start by taking a shopping trip and look around, if you see that your clothes match the store, find out who the owner is and and ask if they would like it. making some of your fashions for sale in their store. You will be surprised how many shop owners want to work with you. I traveled around San Francisco in the Nob Hill district and incorporated my fashion after visiting and discussing my product with four retail stores. By making your designs visible you will get valuable information about whether your designs are in demand or not and if you want to change your designs to increase sales. It will also give you more transparency to the public. If your fashion has sold you can show this to investors who are more willing to invest in your line, if you show that there is a strong demand for your fashion.
